Overview
Holders of the vocational qualification in education and instruction gain broad competence required in tasks related to instruction, education, and communications. Graduates will have good communication and interaction skills, as well as the ability to account for the different needs, and mental/physical safety of the instructed people and clients.
Within the program, you can choose competence area in youth and community instruction (Youth and Community Instructor); competence area in communication and sign language instruction (Communication and Sign Language Instructor); or competence area in early childhood education and care and family welfare (Children’s Instructor).
Programme structure
The scope of this vocational qualification is 180 competence points. The vocational qualification in education and instruction comprises of vocational units (140 – 145 competence points), of which the scope of compulsory units is 105 – 110 competence points and the scope of optional units is 35 – 40 competence points. Two competence areas of the qualification share the compulsory unit Promoting the growth, well-being and learning of children (40 competence points), which is a common unit with the vocational qualification in social and health care.
